Karen and Marty Burstein

My husband and I used to be busy LA executives. He was a VP and I had a small consulting company. Our son lived in a peaceful farm community Northeast of San Diego. We would relax when we visited. We wanted to simplify our lives when we retired. So, we bought a small existing grove in rural Valley Center. It was a beautiful piece of property on a quiet country lane. Then we created a huge garden and home facing Palomar Mountain. We loved the land and the rolling hills.

Our groves contain ruby red grapefruit trees and Hass avocado trees. We respected the land, and wanted to keep it natural. We researched organic farming, certified our groves as organic and joined Rainbow Valley Orchards in 2008. RVO harvests our fruit, sells it, and advises us on organic crop improvement and quality. RVO conduct seminars and workshops every year to help us stay on top of industry trends and ways we can improve our yields. Over the years our yields have increased. We continue to honor the land with sustainable farming techniques. We are proud to be part of the Rainbow Valley Orchard family.
